Position: Cook/Site Coordinator - Commission on Aging

Hours: Starting at $11.92/hr. DOQ/E, in addition to a comprehensive benefit package. 40 hours per week.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the Nutrition Manager, prepares meals for senior citizens of the County. Reviews menu plans, plans cooking schedules, and prepares a variety of meals. Supervises kitchen staff and kitchen volunteers. Maintains sanitary conditions in kitchen, serving and storage areas. Orders, stocks and rotates food products and supplies.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school graduation or its equivalent, prefer some advanced coursework in food preparation and safety.
  • Experience: Prefer two years experience in institutional cooking providing experience with food preparation and service, safety, sanitation and therapeutic diets or commensurate experience.
  • Other Requirements: Certified by the State of Michigan in food safety and valid Michigan Driver’s License.
