Position: Deputy District Court CLerk (Union Position)

Position Information:

Wage: $16.54 DOQ/E, in addition to a comprehensive benefit package.

Hours: 40 hours per week; Monday through Friday (8:00 A.M. – 5:00 P.M.).

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the District Court Administrator, performs a variety of complex clerical tasks involved in processing civil, criminal, traffic, and probation cases. Provides information and assistance to law enforcement officers, attorneys, defendents, and court patrons. Substitutes for other court staff and provides general clerical assistance to the Judges, District Court Administrator, Magistrates and Probation Officers. Deputy District Court Clerks are required to perform work in one or more of the following areas of the Court: civil, criminal, traffic, accounts, probation, or other areas as individually assigned.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Education: A high school diploma with supplemental vocational coursework in office management, bookkeeping or a related field.
  • Experience: Two years of progressively more responsible clerical/administrative experience.
  • Other Requirements: Experience and proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite applications. Must be LEIN certified by the Michigan State Police within a prescribed period following hire.
