Position: Home Care Aide

Department: Commission on Aging

Starting Wage: Starting at $10.70 per hour

Hours: Hours vary, up to 29 per week.

Position Summary:

Under the supervision of the In-Home Services Coordinator, provides personal care services and assists clients with daily living activities according to an individual care plan. Attends to the personal hygiene needs of the client including, bathing, dressing and grooming tasks. Assists with housekeeping and other needs to assist in maintaining a safe and sanitary environment.

Employment Qualifications:

  • Education: High school graduation or equivalent. Completion of a certified nurse’s aide training class preferred.
  • Experience: Some prior experience working in a nursing home, extended care facility, home health care, community health, or similar setting preferred.
  • Certification/Licensure: Valid Michigan driver’s license and a negative TB test.
